This dude Affion Crockett always cracks me up. Some how, he looks like everyone he impersonates. If you didn't hear the original voicemail, check it out below, otherwise, the above video won't be as funny.

...sorta. I'm pretty sure he's talking about Mr. Songz on account of this diss. Kells makes valid points and in my (Tha Advakit's) opinion, Kells is the king of R&B...at least for this generation. I don't think you can list a top 5 without him, but maybe that's just me. I suggest checking out this new LP, it's pretty one dimensional, but it has some nice songs.

"Elephants don't swat flies"

BOOM.ROASTED.

50 Cent drops knowledge (in between talkin ish, pun intended). Pretty cool, plus XXL really does their thang with these little interview clips. Check it out.

Peace,

In the spirit of the Grammy's, I wanted to re-post this video that a lot of people liked on HHU. Something about their mellow disregard for such a big event cracks me up every time.

"You look good, though. You match....in height"

Love their commentary on the red carpet. Who's gonna try this in 2010??!!? haha.

Wrong way to handle being "snubbed." Mr. Terius Nash took to twitter to express his disgust on not being nominated for a Grammy. In MANY artists heads, their personal work is the BEST, so rants like these accomplish nothing.

So, if Dream were nominated, do you think he still would have spoken out on the industry like that? I don't think so, whatsoever. U mad?

This dude is caking off of his song-writing and features. Maybe next year you'll be nominated for that gold statue.

On a related note, I actually liked Love vs. Money a lot. Oh well.
Mr. Boi (left) of Playaz Circle teams up with Wayne and Dre (of Cool N Dre) to give you "Realest They Come." This was originally all tagged up last week, but here is the CDQ, courtesy of Haze. This is produced by Kanye West.

Get it kid.

Says the caption. Pretty broad area of time. Dro need to put out another "Shoulder Lean" or something circa Spring Break in March and drop the album in April/May-ish.

Do It. Do It.

The great Steve Aoki takes it upon himself to go at with with "Forever" and create his own remix. Obviously, it has that club feel to it now, mixing and re-arranging vocals.

This video dropped yesterday, but didn't have internet to post it up, so here ya go.

Haven't listened to the album, but I hear there are some good verses from Wayne and Drake on there. Regardless, for all the shit that Mr. Birdman talks:

Due to my lack of cable at the moment (FINALLY gettin cable on Sat)...I wasn't able to watch the Grammy Nomination show, but I was following it on twitter on my phone. Looks like the usual suspects got their Nom's, but, as always, there were a few pleasant surprises.

Outside of hip hop, I'm real happy a number of bands/singers got nominated. I'm talking MGMT, Adele, Maxwell, LMFAO, etc.

For now, I'll just post the Hip Hop related categories and nominations. For the full list, however, CLICK HERE.

Excerpt:

And just like a hero, Wiz’s “defeats” have been few and far between. His time at Warner was a gift and a curse. While the deal was promising, it only resulted in adequate success for the young emcee. After the Warner fired his A&R, Wiz split from the label. “I just wanted to go in a different direction with my music then what they wanted,” Khalifa revealed. As detractors began to write Wiz off as “finished”, he chose to turn his release from Warner into a positive. He and his team at Rostrum took the internet by storm with an excellent independent campaign. Wiz has one of the most popular Twitter® pages by a hip hop artist; millions of YouTube® views; and a legion of bloggers who believe in him and hold him down as much as the city of Pittsburgh.

“Now, I know what my fans want—I pay attention to their feedback and do what works best for me. It seems to be working so far.” With many artists drowning in the ever evolving business model of music; Wiz has been able to not only stay afloat, but swim towards success harder and faster than most of his peers—while changing his strokes according to the times. Right when he is thought to be done for, this hero finds a way to triumph.

Wiz is a very respectful young man, as I walk back in the main studio from the lounge-turned-Wiz Khalifa trophy room of ID Labs; he asks me if our sit down can wait until he cranks out this song. The urgency in his voice tells me that he doesn’t want to be rude and make me wait, but his priorities lie with his music and his fans. I oblige to the wait and he spends the next two hours creating a dark anthem titled “G’d Up”. As he listens to the finished product, his face contorts and twists in a mean mug that signifies a job well done. Finally, we sit down and talk about his life, his accomplishments, and what his future holds. The conversation is brief but informative. He tells about his partner in rhyme Currensy, his new friendship with mogul Dame Dash, all his various clothing sponsorships, and talks about his next album which is set to be released very soon.

Gotta support my guys over at Eddy N Pizzle. They've provided me with some great graphics for my last two mixtapes and do nothing but quality work. Here's their short blurb:

DNC got a new Cudi track in the email this morning and they liberated it for all to enjoy. Sure...I'll take some new Cudi music. Sounds like the music is definitely coming together for his upcoming album. Keep gettin that tour money in the meantime.

It was recently revealed in a a quick Swedish interview that Kanye has a few things in store, fashion-wise. Check out the intv...and I guess mind the not so great English translations:

Kanye West turned up a bit unexpected at Hotel Skeppsholmen last night at the photographer Thomas Klement's book release and exhibition.

Hey Kanye, what are you doing in Stockholm?
I went here totally unannounced to do a little private research in fashion and design. I will try to meet some designers and designers.

Are you using the clothes from a Swedish brand?
Acne! I have in me both jeans and t-shirt right now.

What are you doing otherwise?
A collaboration with Fendi. I'm very in Rome right now.

There are more sneakers for Louis Vuitton?
Yes, in all cases, new colors on the original model.
A snip of this leaked last week I believe, but now that the whole album is out and the bonus tracks are circulating, here ya go. Song is real corny IMO and I didn't see a Lupe X Chris Brown collabo ever happening, but just throwin it out there for y'all. Check it out:

"Be original. Be different. Try to find something that's missing."

Wise words, from a decent man.

"I used to drink Hennessy ... at halftime," Artest said in an interview with The Sporting News, which is publishing the story in its Dec. 7 issue. "I [kept it] in my locker. I'd just walk to the liquor store and get it."

Wow.

Freeway dropped this track, which sorta gives his 2 cents on this whole Jay/Beans situation. We shall see where this
goes, but judging off of Jay's response to Beans (basically no response), this won't do much.

Peace,

Clif Soulo

Was that a joke? Or did that German guy really drink actual cologne? Judging by 50's reaction, which looked a bit perplexed/amused, that bottle of cologne was honestly chugged by that guy. I don't really know what else to say...

Says all you need to know right there. Head over to the Hammerstein Ballroom early in the morning (I'd say get there closer to 8 so you can wait, get your tickets and be outta there before the 9am rush of people come to wait in line). You know it's gonna be a madhouse so good luck!

FYI, Hammerstein is right behind Penn Station on 34th. Map.
Above is the official image for the 2010, 52nd Grammy Awards. Now, in the scheme of things, the Grammy's highlight the best of the best...in mainstream music. So don't get it twisted when Blu or Skyzoo's albums don't get nominated for Best Rap Album of the Year. I think it's foolish when I hear people complain - like they don't already know what the formula is.

Regardless of that fact, it'll be interesting for the hip hop categories this time around. I say that because we have the Jay-Z and the Kanye material, which is standard, but who else will be nominated in the following categories:

Album Of The Year
Record Of The Year
Best New Artist
Song Of The Year

Best Rap/Sung Collaboration
Best Rap Group Performance
Best Rap Song
Best Rap Album
Best Rap Solo Performance

I think it will be interesting to see WHICH newcomers will be included in those rap-specific categories because you know a Drake or a Cudi will be in there somewhere.

I could always use some new tunes from Ya Boy, produced by HHU friend Pete G. Ya Boy has been puttin out some bangers lately. Lovin that up tempo club track with Bay Area duo, The Cataracs. PG hopefully I can finally meet up in the studio when I'm back in SoCal in Jan!
